Born in Romania in 1978, Costin Soare (www.costinsoare.com) is one of the most active and committed guitarists of his generation. He has played more than 300 recitals (solo and chamber music) throughout Romania and abroad (Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Hungary, China, Japan): 10 national and international tours in more than 25 cities in his native country and abroad, a unique series of contemporary music concerts („Musica”) by Romanian composers at the „George Enescu” National Museum in Bucharest, concerts with orchestra, chamber music recitals (with flute, voice, viola, string quartet or guitar duo, trio and quartet), solo projects.

His first CD, entitled Nocturnes and Dances (Bach, Takemitsu, Britten), a premiere for the Romanian guitar world, was released in 2014, followed in 2017 by Twenty Shades of Music, a flute and guitar CD, together with Ion Bogdan Stefanescu, both CD’s being appreciated by the audiences and critics alike. In 2020, a new album was released, Mirrors, with music from Renaissance to Modern era (Dowland, da Milano, Sor, Paganini, Tárrega, Villa-Lobos, Lennon/McCartney) recorded alternatively on 2 guitars made by the Bucharest-based luthier Alexandru Marian, including a copy of a Torres guitar.

During the first months of 2021, he has recorded the first disc being entirely dedicated to contemporary music for guitar written by Romanian composers, under the title Invisible Cities and Imaginary Beings: Dan Dediu, Cătălin Ştefănescu-Pătraşcu, Şerban Marcu, Gabriel Almaşi, Gabriel Mălăncioiu, Sebastian Androne-Nakanishi. All the CDs are now available on the main music platforms (Youtube Music, Apple Music, Spotify etc.)

Costin Soare is the chairman of Kitharalogos Cultural Association and organizer of the “Guitar Evenings” International Festival in Bucharest (www.seriledechitara.ro), which has become a landmark in the cultural life of the city, with top guitarists from all around the world being invited for recitals and masterclasses.
